An exploration for your Pranayama practice...

According to the Yogi's our breathing is divided into 4 phases:
Puraka - the in breath
Kumbhaka - the pause between inner and outer breath when the lungs are filled with air
Rechaka - the out breath
And
Shunyaka - the pause between outer and inner breath when the lungs are emptied of physical air.

My recommendation...
When you sit for Pranayama say inside your mind: Puraka, Kumbhaka, Rechaka, Shunyaka accompanying each phase and also whenever you're doing your retention, try not to lock the air inside or outside but instead hold the air with your breathing mechanisms...

A tip from Swami Moreira Sadhu - Filipe 'Shiva' Moreira
A great warrior and devoted yoga teacher, an old friend Yoga Kshetra asked me to elaborate a little further on this process of not locking the air.
It's about holding the breath in, and watching how it pauses on the empty lungs.
You inhale gently and firmly, you hold like you can't wait anymore, you breathe out smoothly and you keep alert on the outer retention.
Breathe, study your breath, it's a gentle process.

Thanks for this friend... 🙏
